Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 5: Asserting that the new incumbent Chief Minister of State Mufti Moha-mmed Sayeed once again showed his dominance over the alliance partner the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP), the Jammu People United Front (JPUF) today flayed flaying Sayeed's recent initiative to rehabilitate the surrendered militants and also questioned the criminal silence of the BJP over the said issue.
Balwant Singh Mankotia, Convener JPUF and Ex-MLA said that as the anti-national remarks of Mufti which had stoked controversy all across the country have not faded yet, the CM incumbent once again proved his dominance over the BJP by issuing the directions to the authorities to initiate and start the rehabilitation process for the surrendered militants.
Expressing dismay over the criminal silence of the BJP in this regard, Mankotia charged upon BJP by saying that the BJP always opposed this matter inside the assembly since one decade but now it preferred to remain tight- lipped only for the sake of power. "This criminal silence of the BJP in this regard is detrimental to the interests of the people of Jammu region, he said, while adding, "the Saffron party has blatantly sold out the mandate of Jammu Pradesh and meekly surrendered before the PDP on its core issues which it had promised in the 'Vision document' well ahead of elections."
Mankotia asserted if the BJP keeps on showing this kind of timid stance then the front shall be left with no other option but to confront and gherao the BJP legislators and its ministers outside the legislature. "They (BJP elected members) just look like 'dumb wits' and how can we expect competency in dealing with routine affairs from them?",Mankotia said. Gagan Pratap Singh an activist of the front said that the two opposite poles that is, the BJP and the PDP have cobbled up an alliance for the ruling dispensation. He expressed his dismay over the published 'Agenda of Alliance' which has absolutely excluded the promises and assurances given by the BJP ahead of assembly elections.
