MENDHAR , Mar 5: Forty one families from Dhara Dullian in Poonch district of Jammu region were today moved to safety amid fear of landslides because of heavy rains in the area. "Due to the heavy rains that whole of the region is witnessing for the past three days, there is imminent danger of landslides at Dhara Dullian as a result of which 41 have been shifted to the nearby panchayat ghar at Malti," official sources said. The houses of Jan Begum, Mohammad Fareed, Ghulam Abbas and an unidentified person gave way to the heavy rains, the sources added. ACR, Poonch, Shafiq Ahmad said there was a report of three to four houses having suffered damages in the rains. "We have adequate number of LPG cylinders and ration available with us," he informed. It is pertinent to mention here that because of the damaged Sher-e-Kashmir bridge here, locals have been suffering a lot of problems. The bridge was damaged in the September floods. |
