KVKs integral part of farm Varsity: SKUAST-TAJ

Jammu, Mar 27: SKUAST - Teaching Association Jammu (SKUAST-TAJ) and scientists from different Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) of SKUAST-Jammu said KVKs integral part of farm varsity during the meeting organized under the chairmanship Dr. Vikas Sharma at Main Campus Chatha, Jammu.
According to press release, the meeting was attended by more than 30 scientists, subject matter specialists including programme assistants from various KVKs located at Bhaderwah, Reasi, Rajouri, Poonch and Jammu. "KVKs are the most important component of any Agricultural University and development of the same is mandatory for the promotion of extension activities of the University", said Dr. Vikas Sharma.
He also stated that several agendas pertaining to the overall welfare, better functioning and progress of the KVKs were deliberated in the meeting and it was decided that the association should work to solve all the problems related to the teachers working in KVKs during the meeting it was impressed upon that association will work for the release of pending salaries, arrears of all KVKs and AICRP schemes on priority basis and in the constitution of various committees at University and Directorate Level, KVK Staff will be given due preference. The house expressed unanimously that preparation of the seniority list among all KVK teaching employees besides speedy redressal of the problems being faced by the employees under CAS should be given preference.
Dr. Vikas Sharma informed the house members that association is trying its level best to solve the problems related to the scientists from KVKs and further assured that the issues will be taken up with University Authority and solved very soon.Besides office bearers of association (Dr. Vivek M. Arya, Dr. Vinod Gupta, Dr. Rajeev Sangra, Dr. PK Rai, Dr. Devinder Sharma, Dr. Lalit Upadhyay, the meet was also attended by Dr. Anamika Jamwal, Dr. Sheetal Badyal, Dr. Sanjay Kher, Dr. AP Singh, Dr. Puneet Choudhary, Dr. Arvind Isher, Dr. Muneeshwar Sharma, Dr. Rakesh Sharma, Dr. Parul, Dr. Vishal Sharma, Dr. Sanjay Koushal, Dr. Mandeep Singh, Dr. Ajay Gupta, Dr. Brijesh Ajarawat and others.
