Kalakote, Mar 27: Nearly 30 kanals in Taryath , tehsil Kalakote and district Rajouri have been under the illegal occupation of the encroachers who are making hay while the government is putting up a nonchalance attitude to the serious concern. It is pertinent to mention here that a small rivulet named Tawi flows in the area and the encroachers have taken up in the bed of the Tawi to encroach the land to raise small kiosk, shops and business establishments in the area which are posing a grave threat to the ecology of the region besides creating a jam in the area. " The bus stand at Paryath is a small place where hardly ten busses can only accommodate and the encroachers making up shops and establishments in the area have reduced the space into the bottlenecks creating great problems for the people of the area," said Subhash Kumar, a resident of Paryath town. The residents of the place also said that since they had approached the concerned tehsildar many a times to list their grievances with the department, but no action was initiated t6o vacate the forest government land. " We appeal to the concerned forest minister to rake up the issue of encroachment in the area so that the agonies of the people could be addressed ," said Puran, Suresh, Vicky Gupta and Rohit, all residents of Paryath. Meanwhile the District Commissioner of Rajouri Dipti Uppal when approached by this correspondent showed ignorance over the issue presenting a lame excuse. " Until I do not get any written complaint on the issue , I cannot act," was a brief reply of the DC. It is pertinent to mention here that while the tehsiladar and DC are showing unconcern over the issue, the residents of Paryath allege that there is a connivance of nexus going on in government with the influential that are creating havoc in the area and have left the people to suffer on the account. |
