HC stayed eviction of Ex-Minister from Govt Accommodation

JAMMU, Mar 30: In a petition filed by Ajay Sadhotra who was MLA and minister in NC-Congress Govt seeking quashment of the order of eviction from his present Govt accommodation, Justice BS Walia after hearing Adv Ajay Sharma appearing for the petitioner, ordered status quo.
Justice BS Walia after hearing Adv Ajay Sharma who stated that the petitioner is former legislator of Jammu & Kashmir Assembly whose terms as such expired on March 27, 2015 and the official respondents without complying with the procedure under the Jammu & Kashmir Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorized occupants) Act 1988 are seeking dispossesses the petitioner from the quarter at Gandhi Nagar, issued notice Principal Secretary to Estate Dept, Director Estates returnable before April 9, 2015 and directed them to file objections and till filling of the objections, respondents shall maintain status-quo with regard to the petitioner's quarter.
