Jammu, Mar 31: Justice Permod Kohli appointed new chairman of Sarvodaya International Trust (SIT) Jammu and Kashmir Chapter by the trustees on Tuesday. In this regard was meeting held by the trustees, here today during the meeting future plans for Jammu and Kashmir, especially for youth of the state for welfare of the society were discussed. Speaking on the occasion, Managing Trustee, Pascal Alan Nazareth, who is author of Gandhi's Outstanding Leadership', informed that the Sarvodaya International Trust established in 1995 to help promote Gandhian values of peace, tolerance and non-violence. "Trust's chapter opened in all over country from Kerala to Kashmir, "he added. He also highlighted values of Gandhi's philosophy and elaborated the four core values including truth, non-violence, love for all and untiring desire to serve which can ultimately give happiness to all. He expressed serious concern over the modern society's scant respect to the ideals of truth and non-violence, preached and practiced by Mahatma Gandhi. "To join hand to hand for the work of welfare of society and extend the views of Gandhi, "he stated and adding the trust has been done numbers of works for the youth, society as well as organized numbers of seminar in this regards in view of development of youth. While, Justice Permod Kohli said, "We have some plans and target areas including central jail, whether is there criminal or under trail, and universities of the country for their welfare. He also said, the trust also focus villages of the state, deprived society for communal harmony, brotherhood in all three region of the state. He further said that, trust will hold seminars and film shows to promote Gandhi's philosophy in coming days. "We have plans for the welfare of the people and especially youth, " he emphasized. Dr. Renu Nanda, Managing Trustee, SIT, J&K Chapter presented a vote of thanks. Among others who were attendant the meeting included Prof. GM Bhat, VK Bhutyal, Robin Gill, Tsering Angchok and S.Ravinder Singh. |
