Jammu, Mar 31: As March is going to end, people of Jammu are yet to get kerosene oil as CAPD department has miserably failed to make its supply to them. This has caused problems to those who depend on kerosene oil to prepare food. After the formation of the new government, people hoped to get increased quota of kerosene per ration card but no supply was made to them last month."We have been getting a meagre supply of 5 lts of kerosene oil on ration cards," they added. Castigating CAPD department for giving 5 lts of k oil, Basharat Ahmed of Nagrota said, "This is a cruel joke with the people as 5 lts of kerosene oil lasts for less than half the month." He asked the government to increase the quota of kerosene oil per ration card. He said it was surprising to note that no one in the state Assembly had expressed concern over their plight. Basharat regretted that even Devinder Rana, who represents Nagrota constituency in the assembly, had failed to raise the kerosene oil issue in the House. He called upon CAPD minster Choudhary Zulfkar to come to their rescue and ensure proper and enhanced supply of kerosene oil to the people. He alleged that some CAPD officials were also indulging in blackmarketing of kerosene oil. Despite repeated attempts, CAPD director G S Chib was not available for comments. |
