Jammu based coaching centres gets respite for filing undertaking
Srinagar, Mar 31: The state High Court has directed a three-member panel headed by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir to file compliance report with regard to closure of all unregistered coaching centres in the Valley.
While hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL), a Division Bench of the court comprising Justice M H Attar and Justice A M Magrey has also granted week's time to the coaching centres of Jammu to file the undertaking as directed by the court. "The court committee headed by Divisional Commissioner constituted by the court for implementation of its orders and government orders shall file compliance report about the implementation of the court orders," the bench said and fixed next date of hearing on April 6. Meanwhile, the court has extended by a week time to the coaching centres of Jammu to file the undertaking. The coaching and tuition centres functioning in Jammu, court had said on February 10, shall file undertakings that they comply with 2010 Rules and court directions before the Divisional Commissioner Jammu within ten days time.
The court also directed constitution of a two-member committee comprising two former District and Sessions Judges to verify the statement made to the undertaking filed by the coaching centres in compliance to the court orders. Pertinent to mention that on December 30, 2014, the Court had ordered constitution of a three-member committee headed by Divisional Commissioner with Director School Education and Inspector General of Police as its members to immediately close down all unregistered tuition and coaching centres wherever functioning in the Kashmir division. Besides this in another direction, the court directed a committee comprising two former District and Sessions Judges to submit report after regarding the verification of the undertaking filed the owners of coaching centres.
