Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 17: As the Civil Secretariat is readying for Darbar Move, the highest seat of governance is witnessing ding dong presence of ministers of both the alliance partners PDP and BJP for the last few days. While most of the PDP ministers were away on Kashmir visit for three days, almost all the BJP ministers stayed away from their offices and will not be seen there for two days.
Both , however have reasons- political pre occupations, albeit on different lines but almost en masse absence turned the corridors of power deserted, thanks however to the presence of officials and employees who made the things moving. Soon after the Budget session of Legislature came to an end, most of the Kashmir based ministers made a retreat to their respective constituencies, and rightly so to take stock of situation on various accounts, more so in the aftermath of flood like situation that gripped many parts of Valley. Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and his team of senior ministers have remained pre occupied for the last three days in a number of activities while on Kashmir visit.
In order to make up for absence of alliance partner colleagues, BJP ministers made regular presence and ensured things related to governance remained on track.
In what could be seen as presence on alternate lines today when some PDP ministers came back to Jammu and a couple of them attended offices in Secretariat, their colleagues in BJP were conspicuous by complete absence. Entire lot had to rush to Katra to attend two day long state executive meeting organised by the party in holy town. Along with almost all MLAs, MLCs and senior leaders of the party besides central leadership, they shall stay away at least for two days. Ministers of both the parties , however, shall ensemble again on Sunday in Jammu for the crucial cabinet meeting, the last one before winding up Durbar in the winter capital.
