Quits Hurriyat (JK) unceremoniously

Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 17: Fissures within the separatist camp over distribution of money have yet again exposed the secessionist elements who claim to be fighting for Kashmiris. Unceremonious exit of the senior separatist leader Shabir Ahmed Shah from Hurriyat Conference (JK) has once again proved that separatism in Kashmir is all about the cash which is pumped into the Valley through various channels to keep the pot boiling.
Sources told Early Times Shabir Ahmed Shah, who was brain behind launching Hurriyat Conference (JK) after saying goodbye to the Hurriyat Conference led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, was forced to resign after the separatists heading various small Tanzeems cornered Shah during the meeting of the conglomerate in Srinagar over "unfair distribution" of money which was received through various means after September 2014 floods hit Kashmir.
Soon after the floods inundated Kashmir in September last year, separatists started beating their chests and raised the pitch for allowing international aid to flood ravaged Kashmir. However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi put his foot down and said no to international aid. "Separatists under the garb of floods managed to accumulate huge donations from the outside countries through Hawala channels," said a source.
He said a few sympathizers settled in foreign countries ensured that money reaches the heads of various separatist outfits. "Shah also received his share on the name of Hurriyat Conference (JK). He distributed two or three truckloads of relief material at selected places and ensured that his efforts get a wide publicity."
Sources said that soon after constituents of Hurriyat (JK) came to know that Shah had received a huge sum for relief distribution among flood victims, they insisted that a meeting of the conglomerate should be held to discuss various issues. During the recent meeting leaders of small Tanzeems asked Shah to explain what happened to the money he had received. "They demanded their share and threatened to expose Shah if he failed to oblige them," sources added.
They said, Shah, told other leaders that he is the head and he is not accountable to anyone. "Infuriated over him being questioned Shah left the meeting half way and announced his resignation from Hurriyat Conference (JK) leaving others exasperated," sources added.
Pertinently, Shabir Shah and Nayeem Ahmed Khan had said goodbye to Hurriyat Conference led by Mirwaiz in 2014 after both the leaders felt that they were being ignored by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and others. Soon after leaving Hurriyat (M), Shah and Khan got in touch with small separatist Tanzeems and made them join Hurriyat (JK). "Shah managed to get Hurriyat (JK) registered in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) and assured small Tanzeems that they would get a monthly stipend from the other side," said a source.
He said that Tanzeems, which joined Shah, along with the passage of time, realized that they were just getting peanuts on the name of stipend and Shah was retaining the huge chunk. "Money dealings turned murkier after 2014 September floods as Shah refused to share the aid meant for flood victims with his colleagues," the source added.
He said that small Tanzeems have taken a serious note of Shah not giving them their share and have already brought it into the notice of their bosses and handlers sitting across the Line of Control.
Though Shah has not made any official announcement about him having quit the Hurriyat Conference (JK) but people close to him have made it clear that Shah would not rejoin the conglomerate.
