| Int Deptt advertises promotional quota posts | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 19: In blatant violation of the rules, state Information department has advertised posts for recruitment which otherwise fall under the promotional quota.
Sources told Early Times that to adjust some "blue eyed" candidates the department has advertised a post of Project Officer, which as per official handbook under SRO 69 J&K Information Subordinate Services Recruitment Rule 1993 comes in the promotional quota.
"The advertisement says that eligible candidate should have knowhow of handling projector, amplifiers and PAS equipment and screening of films for mate-cum-charger with five-year experience and screen man with 10-year experience respectively. However, as per service rule book of the department the post of project operator demands 50 percent by promotion from Class 8 of category A (screen man) with 10-year experience, while five-year experience for category B (mate-cum charger).
Taking a dig at the higher authorities for encouraging nepotism and corruption in the department, sources said that instead of promoting already serving people in the department, the higher officers are inducting fresh faces, hence violating the norms.
"This is sheer violation of the service rules, as several senior officials are serving in the department and are highly qualified for the said post, which as per rule seeks promotional quota to handle the projects. But the officers are deliberately bringing some blue eyed candidates, thus depriving already senior officers of the benefits," said the sources. |
