Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 19: Two SHOs, known in police circles as the "blue-eyed" officers of an ex-IGP, have been transferred by the present IGP of Jammu region against their will. While one is sent to Udhampur-Reasi zone, the other is transferred to Rajouri-Poonch range.
The two are termed as so influential and well-connected that whenever they were transferred against their will, they got their orders modified with their "bosses". Their names had surprisingly appeared in the nine SHOs' transfer list which has been issued by the IGP.
Though they again tried to get their orders modified, they failed this time, according to police sources.
Both have headed several police stations as SHOs. One, who spent most of his time in rural areas here, was transferred to the CID wing of police some time back but after a short stay there, he had used his connections successfully and again managed his transfer to Jammu. Since then he was here. Two SHOs, who were posted with them, were transferred several times from place to another but both of them were not touched because an ex-IGP was on their back, sources informed, saying that the new IGP had ordered their transfers without succumbing to any pressure. The second remained posted in a peripheral area of Jammu. He was removed during the state polls and attached with PCR but using his connections, he had again managed his transfer back to Jammu district, sources said.
He was nowadays attached with the police lines here and had been making efforts to manage his transfer to a police station but he failed this time.
Sources said some more SHOs with political connections were also likely to be transferred in a few days.
