Cross border shelling triggers panic again
Villagers weary of repeated dislocation

Hiranagar, Apr.20 : Fresh cease fire violation by Pakistan Rangers triggered panic among hundreds of villagers hailing from Chann Lal Din, Village situated at Zero line in Hiranagar sector forcing people to move to safer places for few hours. No loss of life or property was however reported. People today staged a protest demonstration against Pakistan and Union government where they accused Union government for not taking serious action against Pakistan to find out the permanent solution to frequent Cross border shelling. Swarn Lal, a senior citizen, said Narendra Modi talked about serious action against Pakistan and came out with permanent respite for border inhabitants before election but nothing has been done till date and people are continuously suffering due to cross border firing. He added people have to shift to safer place that affected their day to day lives.
Pakistan Rangers suddenly opened heavy firing last evening when people were out doing their daily chores, triggering panic and people had to run helter skelter to save their lives and their livestock.
Similar incident occurred 3 months ago where hundreds of villagers migrated towards safer places and spent few days in relief camps. One villager had died while several others were injured in the incident. Mohinder Singh, a Youth sought permanent solution including settlement of shelling affected people in safer place as promised by Union government and Member of Parliament Dr Jatindra Singh.
Tehsildar Marheen Manzoor Ahmad rushed to the spot and reviewed the situation. While interacting with media, he confirmed cross border shelling and said affected people are in panic but Local administration is in regular contact with the affected people. He said few kanals of agriculture land has been affected in fresh shelling. He informed that department was preparing estimates of their losses and due relief will be given soon to affected farmers.
