Jammu, Apr 20 : In a first of its kind one day long Educational visit, Post Graduate (M.Sc and Ph.D) students from Division of Biochemistry and Plant Physiology, SKUAST-Jammu visited State of Art facilities in School of Biosciences/ Biotechnology and Centre for Biodiversity Studies (CBS) at Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri. Director, CBS, Dr. Ghulam Hassan Dar, briefed students about the flora of Rajouri district urged them to work on the bio-prospecting of medicinal plants. Dr. Susheel Verma and Dr. Shreekar Pant, faculty members from School of Biosciences and Biotechnology, BGSBU, showed the endangered species, different medicinal plants and other economical important species of North Western Himalayan region being conserved in the Biodiversity Park. The students got first hand exposure of the research activities /achievements of 7 year old varsity. Under the supervision of Prof. S.A. Mallick, the students were accompanied by Dr. Moni Gupta, Assoc. Professor (Biochemistry) and Dr. Vikas Sharma Assisstant Professor (Biochemistry). The students that took part in the visit included Arti Heer, Deepika Sharma, Arvind Badyal, Anshu Wali, Palak Gupta, Neha Sharma, Navneet, Payal, Tabbasum, Priya, Rashmi Chalotra and others. |
