Jammu, Apr 24: "Save The Trikuta Mountains" delegation calls on Governor at Raj Bhavan, Jammu. The team of International Volunteer Foundation (IVF) and students from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra apprised the Governor of J&K, N.N.Vohra about the two successful awareness campaigns on the theme "Save The Trikuta Mountains" organised by IVF and SMVDU in march and october, 2014. According to press release, the team stated that irresponsible attitude from the part of tourists, shopkeepers, locals viz. throwing plastic products, chips wrappers and other disposable items in the deep gorges of mountains, etc worsening the conditions of these beautiful Trikuta Mountains. And these awareness campaigns should be organised at regular interval of time to aware the masses. Governor appreciated the step taken by the youth for the awareness of masses to promote cleanliness in the public places. He assured full support to the campaign. A report was also submitted to Hon'ble Governor. Later, Hon'ble Governor congratulated Ripu Daman Parihar who was honoured with National Youth Award 2013-14 by the Government of India. The team was led by Kiran Kumar Sharma, Social Worker and Chaiman IVF, Harjot Singh, Paramveer Singh, Ripu Daman Parihar, Anil Kumar, Executive Members of IVF, Ganesh Singh, Bipin Kumar Mishra, Koushal Kumar and Rajat Mishra. |
