Chib assumes chair of VC, Kissan Advisory Board

Jammu, Apr 24 : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Daljit Singh Chib assumed the chair of Vice-Chairman, Kissan Advisory Board, Jammu and Kashmir here in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh and Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta at Pragati Bhawan Jammu. Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh congratulated Chib by garlanding him and reposing faith in his leadership, said that Chib is a down to earth social activist, who has proved his ability of handling different affairs on several occasions in the past. Singh said that there are numbers of issues which are being carried by this government as liability from the previous government. He said PDP-BJP dispensation will try its level best to address these issues so that the farming community will be given a hope. "Jammu and Kashmir has hilly terrains, where more than 60-65% of the people are directly involved in agricultural activities and most of the areas are rain-fed, it is a major challenge for the Vice-Chairman, Kissan Advisory Board to work on these issues and sort them out in the interest of farming community", said Dr. Singh. Daljit Singh Chib, after assuming the chair of VC, Kissan Advisory Board said: "I will try to maintain the sanctity of the chair entrusted upon me by the coalition government and my priority will be to decentralize the policies related to the farming community so that major issues of the farmers are addressed on priority". Secretary of the Board G N Mir also congratulated the newly nominated Vice Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Kissan Advisory Board. Other senior leaders who were present included Sunil Sethi, MLA Dr. Krishan Bhagat, Farooq Khan (Retd. IPS), Nand Kishore Sharma, Dr. Suresh Ajay Magotra, Balbir Ram Rattan, Rajeev Charak, Ex-MLA Bharat Bhushan, Rashpal Verma, Anuradha Charak, Kuldeep Banotra, Surinder Singh, Romi Choudhary and others.
