Secretary Rifle Association refutes allegations, alleges malicious propaganda | | | Jammu, Apr 26 : Reacting to the reports of his removal from the J&K Rifle Association, its general secretary has alleged a malicious campaign against him by certain officials of the association and maintained that he had submitted all accounts to the Vice president of the association. Taking strong exception to the reports that he was removed from the Association, he said that certain vested interests in the association had unleashed propaganda against him as he insisted that provisions of SRO-164 which restrain government employees from holding posts in the sports associations should be followed. "I insisted that the guidelines of the Government and J&K state sports council with regards to age and tenures of the office bearers and SRO-164 should be followed in letter and spirit, which infuriated certain people, who then hatched a conspiracy against me" said the General Secretary. He also vehemently denied allegation of non submission of accounts. "I submitted accounts of the association for the year 2009-10, 2010, 2011, 2011-12 ( duly passed by the then president of the J&K Rifle Association) and also for the year 2012-13, 2013-14, 2014-15 duly audited by the Charted Accountant to the Senior Vice president, J&K Rifle Association on April 24, 2015. So, there is no question of the irregularities in the JKRA accounts" he added. He alleged that Director General Youth Services and Sports, also holding charge of the Secretary, Sports Council, who is a Police officer himself is shielding all police officers/ officials in the sports bodies/ federations and government guidelines were being defied with impunity. |
