Govt working under well-knit strategy to ensure speedy, all-round dev: Bali Bhagat

JAMMU, Apr 26: Minister for Social Welfare, Forest, Ecology & Environment, Mr. Bali Bhagat has said that Government was committed to ensure speedy and all round development in every nook and corner of the State with special focus on strengthening the vital sectors like road connectivity, PHE, health, education, electricity and social welfare.
Addressing well attended public meetings at Roop Nagar, Khanpur and Gajaysingh Pora (Tair) in Raipur-Domana constituency near here today, the Minister said that PDP-BJP Government, which has special mandate of the people of both the regions viz; Kashmir and Jammu, is working under a well-knit strategy to provide accountable, transparent and corruption-free administration at all levels. This time the people have voted for a change in Jammu and Kashmir and the Government immediately after taking over the office took a pledge to serve the people of all three regions with missionary spirit. Very soon, the people will see a visible change on ground in the delivery system in all the departments, said the Minister.
Conveying his sincere gratitude to the people of Raipur-Domana constituency for a grand support in the assembly elections, the Minister said he will always remain indebted to them for the gesture and try his level best to come up to their expectations in developing the area as a model segment in Jammu and Kashmir. He said the process of setting up of a Degree College, Sub-District Hospital in the constituency has already been set in motion. Besides, efforts are on to set up newly sanctioned IIT for Jammu division in the constituency, for which the land identification process in the areas has been initiated. With the creation of these facilities in the area, there will be a great change in the socio-economic status of the people, he added.
In order to help the poor, SC and houseless people of the constituency, the Minister asked the village Sarpanchs/Panchs to identify poorest of the poor for providing assistances under Indira Awas Yojana (IAY) and other social security schemes. He said Central as well as State Governments have launched several welfare schemes for the upliftment of downtrodden people and the Department of Social Welfare has been given instructions to cover all the deserving beneficiaries under these benefits to change their socio-economic profile. He said the Department will provide these facilities to the poor people at their doorsteps by organizing special camps in the rural and far-flung areas.
Responding to the demand of people for construction of Patoli-Tair-Gajay Singhpora road, the Minister issued on-the-spot instructions to the officers of R&B Department for the construction of the said road, besides improving other link roads at the shortest possible time. He also issued instructions to the officers of PHE, Rural Development and PDD Departments to improve the services on priority.
Sectoral Officers of various departments and local leaders accompanied the Minister.
