Education not up to mark in Rajouri
4/27/2015 12:19:46 AM
Rajouri, Apr 26 : The status of education is not up to the mark in the government schools in rural areas of Rajouri district. This was disclosed by Mayur Khaire , Prime Minister's Rural Development Fellow (PMRDF) Rajouri during study in the rural areas in this hilly Rajouri district. During his visits to several rural areas in the district ,Khaire noticed that the children belong to high society / rich people getting quality education in expensive private institutions either at Rajouri or in other parts of the State/country while poor children are left on the mercy of God in the government schools which, mostly, lack physical and human resources.
Khaire observed that it is the fault of the system/society that cares little for unequal opportunities to these poor children who can compete at any level provided they were provided better education in government schools. He observed that how we can expect these unfortunate children to take interest in Education. How they will get confidence to stand equally in world of competition? Is not there future bleak in the absence of better opportunities?
"System can be changed if civil society take equal responsibility and extend support to government run institutions," said Khaire. To aware the society and to create interest in the children from Rural back ground towards science education, Mayur Khaire has started an initiative in which dedicated educated volunteers will devote one day in a month for the betterment of education of these poor children studying in Rural areas. The initiative was started with active support from District Development Commissioner, Rajouri in collaboration with Pune based NGO namely Gian Setu. "Under this initiative volunteers will be provided specific training and will be sent to these village schools to bridge the gap of knowledge.
Volunteers will get no financial assistance but in order to serve the society they are expected to work dedicatedly and selflessly," said Kahire.
