Zulfkar for monitoring of developmental works in rural areas

JAMMU, Apr 27: Minister for CA&PD & Tribal Affairs Ch Zulfkar Ali today asked the concerned officers to conduct a detailed survey of the remote areas and formulate a comprehensive project for development of basic infrastructure keeping in view the topography of district.
Minister gave these directions while chairing officers meeting held to review the physical and financial achievements of various developmental projects in Rajouri and directed the executing agencies to expedite the progress on different ongoing works.
Reviewing the infrastructure status of various school buildings being constructed under RMSA, it was informed that the school buildings in Kanthol, Damool, Sankari, Kharad Baddhal and Trala would be completed before August this year.
Referring to certain school buildings where the work has been stopped due to funds constraint, the minister directed the CEO to take up the matter with Director RMSA for early release of funds for timely completion of these vital works.
The Minister also took stock of progress on construction of health centres in various areas including, Jamola, Chakbatti, Gabbar etc and directed the executing agency to ensure speedy completion of these buildings so that required infrastructure and medical facilities are put in place in these centres to cater the health care needs of people in far flung areas.
Expressing dismay over the poor conditions of roads in district , the Minister directed the concerned to restore all the stretches in hilly areas at earliest so that the people do not suffer. He also sought detail of present status of all the road of the district. While laying stresses on the maintenance of roads ,the minister said that the matter of keeping additional maintenance funds under different schemes would be taken up with concerned department so that these roads are maintained.
Zulfkar constituted a five member panel headed by ADDC to look into the bottlenecks hampering the timely and speedy execution of developmental works in the district .He also asked the concerned to submit the report in this regard within next one month time to the Deputy Commissioner office. He said that that fortnightly review will be taken of the status of ongoing projects with special focus on the rural areas.
Later the minister paid obeisance at Shahdara Sharief and prayed for the welfare and prosperity of the state.
