68 years after freedom, 2 villages without electricity! 5/4/2015 12:31:52 AM Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, May 3 : Villagers of Satyalta ward no 3-4 in Block Chenani and District Udhampur registered protest against the District Administration and PDD. Led by Sarpanch Baldev Singh, the villagers said that after 68 years of independence , two villages have not been electrified. The smoky kerosene lamps that give a faint light have become the trademark of the villages. They have submitted several applications to state government departments and officials to cover their village under many Schemes State and Central Government but all in vain. Their appeal is to the State Government and PDD Minister to understand their grievances and ensure that the electricity supply work is taken up in right earnest.
