Congress not to allow passage of anti farmers Bill

Jammu, May 3: Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad has brought the ongoing political battle between ruling NDA and the opposition UPA into J&K.
Asserting that Congress would not allow the anti-farmers legislation to be passed in the parliament, Azad said that Congress would not allow this bill to be passed in the Rajya sabha. He was addressing a day long convention of Congress workers of Jammu (Urban & Rural), here today.
Azad lashed out at 'Modi Government' for its anti farmer policies and said that Congress will fight for the right of farmers and poor in the country and would not allow the pro-rich and pro-corporate policies at the cost of farmers. He said that Congress would not allow the present anti farmers legislation to be passed in the parliament.
He expressed concern over the use of religion for politics and that religious exploitation has polarized the polity of the country. He accused the BJP for spreading falsehood and exploiting people during Lok Sabha elections, but said that the graph of the Modi led government has fallen so rapidly which no government in the past witnessed such type of situation in a short spell of time.
JKPCC president, G. A. Mir in his address said that Congress cadre was committed to the party and its ideology and would play a role of responsible opposition to expose an unholy alliance of two parties. He said that the people of the state feel betrayed as both the parties contested elections on their own agenda which were contradictory and oppose to each other but after securing mandate two parties joined hands to share power ignoring the aspirations of the respective electorates.
Former member Parliament Mr. Madan Lal Sharma, Sham Lal Sharma-Senior Vice President PCC, N. Rigzin Jora-CLP leader, Raman Bhalla-Vice President PCC, Smt. Kanta Bhan-Vice President PCC, Suman Bhagat, Th. Balwan Singh, Vikram Malhotra, Th. Shiv Dev Singh, Smt. Indu Pawar, S.S.Singhari, B. S. Sambyal, Pranav Shagotra, Neeraj Kundan, Anil Chopra-President DCC Urban, Shamsher Singh Chib, Shashi Sharma also address the gathering. Mr. Anil Chopra conducted the proceedings of the Convention.
Ch. Shah Mohammad-Advocate presented the resolution which was adopted in the Convention.
Anand Gupta- President of BJP of ward No. 42 Gandhi Nagar joined the Congress party alongwith his supporters.
On this occasion SSP (Retd.) S. Bhupinder Singh joined the Congress party alongwith his supporters.
Prominent leaders present on the occasion include S/Shri Mohammad Sharief Niaz, Dilldin Namgial (MLA), Yogesh Sawhney, Shabir Ahmed Khan, Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma, Rajnesh Sharma, S. Manjit Singh, Manmohan Singh, Faqir Nath, Namrata Sharma, Ch. Shahnawaz, Prakash Sharma, Kuldip Raj Verma, Y.V.Sharma, M. K. Bhardwaj, Darshan Raina, Maheswar Singh, Ashok Sharma and Santosh Sharma.
