MLC Vibodh assures support for overall development of BGSBU

Rajouri, May 5: While extending his full support for the development and betterment of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), Vibodh Gupta, Member Legislative Council (MLC) here today suggested 25% reservation for the people of Rajouri-Poonch districts in jobs and also for recruitment of adequate teaching staff. MLC Vibodh Gupta who today visited the university to assess the developmental works and took up the various issues of university with Prof IA Hamal, Vice Chancellor and Ch Mohd Rashid Registrar and assured full support for the overall development of the institution. While demanding early conduct of interviews for various non-teaching positions, MLC expressed shock large scale shortage of non teaching staff resulting in hampering the routine work of this prestigious institution. "Many local youth have applied for the non-teaching positions in the BGSBU but surprisingly no interview has been conducted for the last many years, he said. During his visit to Polytechnic College at BGSBU, Vibodh Gupta found that the University Administration has fixed Rs 1.50 lakh fee while the same course was completed in other institutions in other Polytechnics in the State. He suggested BGSU authorities to reduce the fee as per other polytechnics of the State and also demanded 25% reservation in university jobs as per 25% reservation in various courses for the students of Rajouri-Poonch districts. Extending full support to University, Gupta said that he will work for the development of this institution and make it best institution of J&K.He has also expressed anguish over the depilated condition of the road leading to the University and directed PWD ( R&B) department to take up its repairing work at earliest. Prof IA Hamal, VC and Mohd Rashid Registrar have thanked MLC for his interest in the development of BGSBU and assured him to implement his suggestions on ground.
