Jammu, May 5: Two years since J&K Service Selection Recruitment Board (JKSSRB) advertised 520 posts of various departments vide advertisement notification No. 1 of 2013 Dated 16-2-2013, and filled up all except 15 posts of Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI); Chairperson JKSSRB has assured to fast track process for filling up these 15 posts of inspectors in Motor Vehicle Department.
As per the details available with Early Times, JKSSRB advertised 520 posts in 2013 for various departments including Industries & Commerce, Forest, Draftsmen civil, PHE, FC&I, Agriculture production and others, but all such posts stand filled by the recruiting agency except 15 posts of Motor Vehicle Inspector (8 for Kashmir and 7 for Jammu Division).
While talking to Early Times candidates who had applied for the said posts on the condition of anonymity said that nearly 100 unemployed youths applied for the job against these advertised posts. He said that these 100 unemployed youths belongs to different areas of the state and reached Jammu or Srinagar after spending hefty amount on traveling and stay at Jammu or Srinagar, and termed it as a matter of great resentment that main recruiting agency of the state is playing delay tactics to initiate the process for filling of these advertised posts. He said that filling all other posts that were advertised and leaving these 15 posts of the MVI has raised suspicion over the functioning of SSRB. Another aspirant who applied for the post of MVI said that several representation were made to secretary and Chairman JKSSRB from time to time, but they too failed to invoke any response from them.
"The latest representation in this regard was made on 29-12-2014--- We hoped that new chairman will look into the matter on humanitarian grounds" said applicant.
When contacted Chairperson JKSSRB Dev Lata assured prompt action.
"I have taken over recently-- I will definitely look into it on priority" she said. However she did not make any comment on the reasons for delay in conducting the written test and the interview.
"I don't want to comment on reasons for delay--- what are the reasons behind all this and what my predecessor did, I don't want to go through that--- It was only today that civil secretariat opened at Srinagar--- tomorrow I will definitely look into it on priority" added Dev Lata.
