Jammu, May 23: In a contempt petition filed by Laxmi Cricket Club, Jammu through its president V K Sabharwal & Ors for disobeying the orders of the Court in WPPIL 20/2014 dtd 11/1/14, whereby the respondents have deliberately flouted the orders of the court, the Division Bench of State High Court issued notice to Chief Secretary, Director General Sports, J&K Sports Council and Ors and directed respondents to file In the meantime, statement of facts.

Pertinently this contempt petition was filed for lent out its MA Stadium/ Sports Stadia/playground for holding Public Meeting, "Vishal Sadbhavana Sammelan" on May 2- 3, 2015 a get together of some sort by self-styled spiritual Saint Satpal Ji Maharaj, the organisers of which were self-styled organisation, Manav Utthan Sewa Samiti, Jammu, in clear violation of the orders of the High Court.
The ground was used for purposes of erection of stage, erection of arches, decorative entries apart from beautifying the stage. (JNF) |
