Wrestling competition organized

Rajouri, May 24: Rajouri district police under the supervision of Dr Haseeb Mughal, SSP have organised a wrestling competition today at Kotranka , tehsil headquarter in which more than 50 wrestlers from Jammu, Reasi and Rajouri districts took part.
About 50 wrestlers from Jammu, Reasi districts and from other parts of Rajouri district took part in the competition and Kala Khan of Khawas in Rajouri district defeated Mardhan Ali (Jammu) in first round and clinched prize worth Rs 5000while Mardhan was give Rs 3000.
In second round Anwar Chowdhry of Jammu defeated Dalbir Singh of Reasi district and won the prize money worth Rs 4000 while runner up was given Rs2000.
Gadu of Mahore in Reasi district won the third round by defeating Sadeeq Choudhry of Jammu & were given Rs 2000 and Rs 1000 respectively.
Wrestlers under 8, 15 and 18 years also competed in the competitions and the winners and runners up were given Rs1000 and Rs 500 each . District police also provided clothes to all the wrestlers (winners & runners up).
The wrestling competition was organized by Tejinder Singh, Addl. SP Rajouri and SI, Mohd Bashir, SHO Kandi police station and was witnessed by more than 10,000 people prominent among them were Addl. SP Nowshera Rakesh Kumar, SDPO Nowshera Surgan Shukla,IPS, Dy.SP Hqrs Hamid Choudhary, Dy.SP operations Iftqar Ahmed and Tehsildar Koteranka.
"J&K Police is organizing these tournaments to groom local talent and emphasized greater co-operation with the public and will leave no stone unturned to harness the local talent in sports and cultural activities by providing a platform to young and children" said SSP.
