7 bovine smugglers held, 65 animals rescued | | | Jammu, May 24 : Police today arrested seven bovine smuggling bids, rescued 65 bovines in two separate incidents.Police spokesman said that on specific information a party led by SHO Jhajjar Kotli, SI Hilal Azhar under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Bharat Bhushan and SP Rural Rajiv Pandey raised a naka at Jajjhar Kotli during intervening night and intercepted two trucks bearing numbers JK03D-0362 and JK19-1325 which were carrying 29 bovines.Police arrested the smugglers and rescued the bovines besides seized the vehicles. The arrested have been identified as Farooq Ahmed of Thether Banihal, Mohd Ishaq of Qazigund, Abdul Rasheed of Hakura Anantnag and Mohd Quyoom of Qazigund Anantnag.Arrest was made by SHO P/S Jhajjar Kotli Sh. Hilal Azhar under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Bharat Bhushan and SP Rural Rajiv Pandey under the close supervision of SSP Jammu Uttam Chand. A case under FIR No. 54/2015 under section 188of RPC 3/PCA Act was registered at jajjhar kotli police station.Meanwhile, in Nagrota area police team led by Inspector Vinod Kundal raised a naka and intercepted three vehicles bearing registration numbers JK08A-6415, JK0AD-3325 and JK02AF-4379. Police arrested thre smugglers who have been identified as Liqat Ali of Kot Bhalwal, Khaliq Hussan of Sidhra and Abdul Qayum of Reasi.Police registered case in this regard at Nagrota police station. |
