Six killed in separate mishaps in Jammu region

Jammu, May 25 : Six persons were killed in separate incidents at different places across the Jammu region on Monday. Police sources said that two persons lost their lives after consuming some poisonous substance at their respective residences. Police said that one Anil Kumar (24) s/o Ramesh Lal of Qasim Nagar consumed some poisonous substance at his residence and was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) where he failed to respond the treatment. Meanwhile, another man identified as Nazakat Hussain s/o Shabir Ali of Gujjar Nagar was undergoing treatment at GMC&H today died during treatment. "Meanwhile a man was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Narwal area in Jammu outskirts here today, police sources said.
They said that after getting the information the body was shifted to the GMC&H Jammu where he was pronounced as brought dead. The identity of deceased has been ascertained as Krishan Lal s/o Dhani Ram of Akhnoor. Police however added that the as per medical examination the excessive liquor consumption might be reason of death. Yet in another mishap, a man lost his life when the motorbike he was travelling on as pillion rider skidded off the road at Nagrota in Jammu outskirts. The deceased has been identified as Chanchal Singh s/o Rajinder Singh of Nagrota while identity of the injured has been established as Susheel s/o Mohan Lal of Nagrota. Police said that both the injured were shifted to GMC&H Jammu where Chanchal sucummebed to his fatal injuries while Susheel was under treatment when last reports came in. Police sources further said that a sepoy of Assam rifles who was undergoing treatment at Military Hospital (MH) Satwari died today. Police sources said that he received injuries few days ago after fell from stairs in a Guest House at Trikuta Nagar area. The deceased has been identified as sepoy Aroop Sharma son of Kirti Sharma of Assam. After the injuries, he was shifted to MH and today during treatment he failed to respond the treatment. Later the body was shifted to the mortuary of GMC&H Jammu. Meanwhile, an unknown was found dead under mysterious circumstances near Canal Road. After taking custody of body the concerned police have initiated legal proceedings and process to identify the deceased meanwhile the body has been kept in the mortuary of GMC&H Jammu. Police said that all the bodies were handed over to their family members for last rites and cases have been registered at their concerned police stations.
