Jammu, May 25: The Police is likely to scrutinize the records of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) in connection with the much publicized students' scholarship scandal. Senior Superintendent of Police Rajouri, Dr. Haseeb Mughal informed Early Times that police was still scrutinizing the records of the Jammu and Kashmir bank. Pertinently, police have seized the record from Rakiban branch of Jammu and Kashmir Bank, wherein a fake account was opened in which scholarship amount to the tune of Rs. 2,13000 was doled out, with active connivance of some unknown University officials and the dismissed Bank employees. SSP Rajouri further said that after complete verification of Bank records, Police would take records and details from University administration, pertaining to scholarship. He further said, "We will take details of all the students who have been getting scholarships and their bank accounts, in which scholarship amount was transferred." SSP further said that within one or two days, the University records would be scrutinized and the employees and officials associated with the scholarships would be questioned, if required. |
