Doda Police solve blind murder case

Jammu, May 25: Doda police today claimed that it solved a blind murder case of a lady and arrested the accused person who killed her.
As per the details available with "Early Times", on 23-04-2015, Doda police reliably learnt that one unidentified female body was lying at the bank of river Chenab near Prem Nagar (Mahalla area) in a suspicious circumstances, police team from police station Doda immediately rushed to the spot and took custody of the body. The body was evacuated from the bank of river Chenab to District Hospital Doda, where the deceased was identified by her family members. During the inquest proceeding, postmortem of the deceased was conducted through MO DH Doda. After postmortem, the body was handed over to the NOK's of the deceased for last rites.
In order to ascertain the cause of death, an inquest proceeding U/S 174 Cr.PC vide DDR No. 06 Dated 23-04-2015 were initiated by the police and accordingly SSP Doda Z.N Manhas constituted a special investigating team under the supervision of Dy SP Hqrs Doda Mushtaq Ahmed Sheikh headed by SHO Police Station Doda Inspector Udhay Shanker Wazir.
During the course of further enquiry, the call details of the deceased were obtained besides recording the statements of PW's U/S 175 Cr.PC, it has been established that the deceased had extra marital relations with Police constable Mohammad Shafi (Belt No. 689/P) Son of Abrahim Gujjar Resident of Kewa Bunjwah District Kishtwar for the past three to four years. In continuity to the extra marital relations, the accused Mohammad Shafi, managed to call and meet her on 22-04-2015 at Khellani, where from both proceeded towards Prem Nagar, after crossing bridge went to the other side of River Chenab and had a detailed discussion. The deceased told accused that she had finally left her home to live with him for future and demanded that he (accused) should enter into a marriage agreement with her, for which the accused categorically refused.
"The matter aggravated and ultimately the accused took her to an abandoned place, where he strangulated her with her dupatta and dragged her towards river side with intention to kill her. Due to the infliction of these grievous injuries, she collapsed instantly. The accused also threw the dupatta and her purse etc towards the river Chenab" said police.
