Early Times Report

JAMMU, May 25: Expressing solidarity with other parties who have announced Jammu Bandh over the issue of AIIMS and Tawi artificial Lake, the Shiv Sena (Bal Thakeray) has extended its support to the shut down call on May 27.
In a press conference jointly addressed by State President Dimpy Kohli with other leaders including Rakesh Gupta, G I Singh and Vikrant Kapoor said that they will not tolerate any discrimination with Jammu region which is being done for the past six decades.
Establishment of AIIMS is the right of Jammu People while Artificial lake at Jammu is a prestigious project for Jammuites and will be a centre of attraction for tourists especially pilgrim tourists of Mata Vaishno Devi and Shri Amarnath, they added.
As the lake project is already approved by the Central Water Commission keeping in view all the technicalities and Rs 60 crore has already been spent on this project, there is no logic now to abandon the proposal.
Further leaders of the Shiv Sena expressed that they have already conveyed to CEO Shri Amarnath Shrine Board and to the Governor NN Vohra that 1st Poojan of Shri Amarnath Yatra should be performed at Holy Cave of Shri Amarnath on Jyesth purnima that falls on 2nd June.
