ICCR release document 'three eventful years of ICCR Jammu' | | | Early Times Report
Jammu May 25: Regional Director of ICCR Jammu today released a document 'Three Eventful Years of ICCR Jammu' here at ICCR headquarters in Jammu. Elaborating details, Regional Director ICCR Balwant Thakur said that in just three years ICCR established new International professional trends of cultural showcasing in Jammu. In this short span of time with 50 (Fifty) major events, ICCR established Jammu as an International destination of vibrant cultural happenings. Jammu Regional Centre of ICCR was inaugurated by Dr. Karan Singh, then President of ICCR on 25th May, 2012 with the super-mega spectacular presentation 'Jammu Mega Cultural Show' which featured over two hundred prominent artists and performers. "In the last three years, ICCR organized 50 major cultural events which included four International presentations. The first in the series to come from outside India was the dances of Zambia. This amazing presentation was an eye opener for everyone and people out here were exposed to the International standards of performances and presentations for the first time", he said, adding that the presentation of the music and dances of LAOS presented by a group of the musicians and dancers of Peoples Democratic Republic of LAOS. Visual art event, ICCR Jammu organised an All-India art Exhibition as well featuring the painting collections of ICCR and Ist ever International Exhibition of Cartoons, curated by Chander Shekhar. To encourage young talents ICCR Jammu started a new series 'Young Tarang' and showcased the talent of over 100 young budding artists |
