JAMMU, May 25: "Politics sometimes presents us with difficult choices - difficult, but choice too. A pragmatic politician should look at the choices also, which we did in J&K. Contrary to propaganda in some sections, we didn't compromise even an inch on national or state interest, while exploring options to serve the people of the state for which an overwhelming mandate was given to us. 'Compromise is to politics what devotion is to friendship,' said John Morley in his book, On Compromise. But we proved in J&K that not compromise, but conviction is what drives our politics".
Who said it and where? BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav, who on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP national president Amit Shah and the so-called nationalist and pro-Jammu RSS, sealed the pro-separatist and pro-Kashmir and pro-Pakistan and rabidly anti-Jammu, anti-Ladakh, anti-Kashmiri Pandits and anti-refugee agenda of alliance said so in his pro-Modi political essay "Fighting from the top".
Ram Madhav, whose concept of the state and on state is highly flawed, is, it seems, considers the people of Jammu region and Ladakh (as well as the Indian nation) politically naïve, which they are not.
They understand everything, as they have been carrying on a relentless campaign and fighting an ideological battle in the state to defeat the Kashmiri separatists and votaries of greater autonomy, Kashmir's independence and Pakistan since 1947. It is because of their contribution and supreme sacrifices, as also because of the splendid role and supreme sacrifices of our Army and paramilitary forces that J&K is within India. It is also because of their splendid role that Article 370 has been eroded and the state integrated into India politically, constitutionally and economically to a considerable extent. It is their ideology that has reigned supreme in the state, notwithstanding the fact that political power has been with Kashmir since 1947. It is a different thing that the RSS and its political wing, BJP, have all through sabotaged the nationalist and pro-Jammu and pro-Ladakh movements in Jammu, like the RSS and BJP today are doing their best to harm Jammu, Ladakh and paramount national interests in the state by flirting with protagonists of Kashmiri sub-nationalism.
Even a layman would expose the political and intellectual bankruptcy of Ram Madhav, who doesn't know what the state, the nation, the nationality, patriotism and border mean, but who is exploiting his political position to preach perverted views and his perverted politics of pragmatism. He, it is now clear, belongs to that category of political class that dubs the Hindus as communal and the minority communities, especially the Muslims, and more especially the Muslims of Kashmir, secular. He also belongs to the category of those who want the persecuted Kashmiri Pandits to return to the Valley to live with those who consider them fifth columnists, as also the main obstacle in their way.
Just look at the agenda of alliance which Ram Madhav describes as the outcome of politics of pragmatism and you will reach the conclusion in no time that the agenda of alliance is nothing but an agenda of subversion, agenda of appeasement, agenda of negation of the Indian state and agenda of communalism. For the people of Jammu and Ladakh regions, it is a new "charter of bondage", as it is particularly designed to further empower the already rather empowered Kashmir to further establish its hegemony on everything in the state and enslave the nationalist people of Jammu and Ladakh. It is an agenda that has put the very survival of the minorities in the state and the vital national interests at stake and it is an agenda that has vitiated the whole atmosphere in Kashmir and created discontent, dissatisfaction and a sense of insecurity among the patriotic people of Jammu province and Ladakh region. It is an agenda that has snatched everything from Jammu and Ladakh and handed over everything to Kashmir and it is an agenda that is being rightly denounced as an "agenda of betrayal".
As said, the people of Jammu province are politically highly conscious. They will defeat the ulterior game plan of the RSS and the BJP like they defeated in the past the evil game plans of anti-national and anti-Jammu forces in the past. |
