Jammu May 27: Vehicular movement on Jammu Srinagar National Highway in Udhampur remained paralyzed for some time when locals staged a protest demonstration against PDD here on Wednesday.
According to local reports, the local residing at T-Morh, Udhampur assembled at highway and held a strong protest against the Power Development Department (PDD) for erratic supply of power.
Protestors alleged that they had been forced to live in darkness at night and are facing scorching heat during day as PDD failed to supply power to them.
The senior PDD official and Police officers rushed to the spot and did their best to pacify the protestors who had disrupted traffic on ever busy national highway.
It was the intervention of the police and PDD officials after which the protesters lifted their protest. Rakesh Sharma Sarpanch, Gurmmet Singh, Sanjay Gupta, Pawanjeet Mehra, Pushpa Devi, Kamal Kumar, Ravi Gupta, Rajesh Kumar, Deepak Arora and others also participated in the protest. |
