Mohit Dutta-the son of soil has seen many ups and downs in his career but the crosswinds failed to shake his confidence in achieving his targets.
Born as an introvert child to an ardent photographer father Mr. Narendra Dutta and Mrs. Neelam Dutta, Mohit Dutta had acting in his genes as, while he was studying in Class First at BSF School Paloura, Jammu, he performed on a song 'Yaad aa raha hai tera pyar' from Mithun Chakraborty's movie Disco Dancer in which Mithun had played a lead role.
"He (Mohit Dutta) even acted in school copying Mithun Chakroborty's one of the scenes from 'Disco Dancer' movie wherein his (Chakraborty's) mother dies of which my wife Neelam Dutta took strong exception and forbade him (Mohit Dutta) not to do such scene in future saying-'Your mother is still alive', How could you do this?", shared Mohit's father, Narendra Dutta with Early Times.
"Once when he was studying in Class 12th at Mubarak Mandi Heritage School, Jammu, he came home and revealed his plan to make his career in bollywood movies and sought our financial help in making him a model", said Mohit's father, adding a Kashmiri-Bharat who was in relations with someone from Zee TV in Mumbai first gets ready to help us but later on discouraged us giving some weird reasons. Narendra Dutta said that thereafter he along with Mohit came back to Jammu and Kashmir.
Mohit took admission in ETI College of Education in the year 2008 and remained unsuccessful. Unmindful of failure, he encountered in studies, Mohit took first step of his career and got admission in Anupam Kher Institute of Film and Drama in Mumbai in the year 2009 for which he had to pay Rs. 1 Lakh and 60 thousands in three installments.
Mohit's father further said that the first landmark in Mohit's life was his short role of child actor in 'Hide & Seek' movie directed by Apoorva Lakhia who has gained acclamation for his movie Shoot out at Lokhandwala. The rape scene of the movie wherein Mohit acted as a child actor was widely praised by the art connoisseurs.
"It was followed by some advertisements he did with International brands like OCM, Airtel, Canon, Eno, Coalgate, Link Locks, and Hercules Cycle in between 2010-2015. Later on, he got short role in Shahrukh Khan's production 'Always Kabhi Kabhi' but as the length of the film was reduced owing to portraying of a similar story idea in Hindi feature film 'Faaltu', Mohit didn't get that much recognition", told Mohit's father.
"Mohit's father added that after the Hindi movie 'Always Kabhi Kabhi' starts difficult time of Mohit as without any advertisement or movie, he was feeling suffocated in Mumbai but he was provided all the possible help from the family members. In the year 2014, Mithun Chakraborty, signed Mohit for his own production-'Ishqedarriyaan' along with Mahaakshay Chakraborty and Evelyn Sharma for playing the character of a passionate singer-Arjun", told Narendra Dutta.
"After interviewing Mohit, the English Daily-Indian Express has reported that the story is completely intense and about how he falls in love and how sacrifices bring about a twist in the narrative of the story. Mohit has even sung a song-'Das ve Rabba das be' in the movie directed by V.K.Parkash which is a popular song on the social networking sites as well as search engine youtube these days", he added.
On further questioning about the problems Mohit faced in his life, his father said that he ran from pillar to post to help his son achieving his targets but the major role was played by his wife Neelam Dutta who found an actor in his son and asked him to join an English speaking course in Delhi following which the introvert child like Mohit turned an eloquent English speaker which is a requisite in Bollywood life.
"We have had some financial issues as, I distributed free tickets of Hide & Seek at the cost of Rs. 1.5 lacs to the viewers in Jammu but it didn't jolt our confidence in seeing our son a famous actor of bollywood", added Narendra Dutta.
Mohit has appealed all the viewers of Jammu and Kashmir to watch the Friday release 'Ishqedarriyaan' in numbers to make him a successful debutant actor and like and share his songs on social networking sites to make them super duper hits. On further questioning about his promotion in Jammu, Mohit said that as of now there is a security issue but soon he will be in Jammu for addressing media persons.
