Owner distances himself from controversy; accused manager sacked | Black-marketing of LPG by Doda Gas Agency | | Asif Iqbal Naik Early Times Report Jammu, May 28: Distancing itself from the controversy involving manager Faridiya Gas Agency Doda Shabir Ahmed Natnoo in black marketing and selling of LPG connections at exorbitant rates, the owner of the Faridiya Gas Agency Doda today said that the controversial manager has been shown door by them soon after the management of the company received complaints about him regarding black marketing of LPG connections and their sale at exorbitant rates. While talking to "Early Times", Javed Ahmed Azad owner of the Faridiya Gas Agency Doda said that he is a businessman who mostly remained stationed either at Jammu or Srinagar and had appointed the accused Shabir Ahmed Natnoo as Manager of the agency only to felicitate the public delivery system in his absence. He said that after receiving the complaints from general public about manager Shabir Natnoo, he was asked to explain his position at first instance and later was expelled from the job, added that his company has no link with him anymore. "There is no doubt that Azad Sahab is my relative--- but it is unnecessary to drag his name (Azad) in any controversy involving his family" said Tariq Azad, adding that the matter was now sub judice and it is the court who will take the final call. He said that his agency will cooperate in police investigation. It is pertinent to mention that manager of the gas agency used to charge amount double or triple for every new connection against the government rate fixed at Rs 1450 as security for one cylinder (without gas), Rs 150 for regulator and Rs 422 for refilling of cylinder on subsidizes rates.
