BJP organisational rejig: Two Gen Secys from RSS background for the first time | New one appointed to clip wings of existing 'sanghathan mantri'……! | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 28: In the recent organisational reshuffle, state unit of BJP saw filling up of one of the posts of organisational General Secretaries with a person from RSS background who doesn't have even primary membership of the party. The high point of the decision is that it is for the first time that party shall have two general secretaries recommended by RSS contrary to earlier practice and precedence of having only one, something which has become a norm over the years. The decision, however, has a solid and valid background, said the sources within the party. A new man from RSS has been appointed as what is popularly called as 'sanghthan mantri', purportedly to clip the wings of the existing one and perhaps with a motive to send him a sort of warning to fall in line with what party desires things to work within the organisation. Sources said that existing general secretary organisation from RSS who for some time has played an active role in party decisions at the local level and enjoyed patronage of some key leaders at the centre is in centre of harsh criticism from the rank and file for his way and style of functioning. Sources further said resentment is growing strong against him and party workers, particularly old and dedicated lot is not happy with him for one or the other reason. While workers have complaints galore that they are being ignored and overlooked in every matter as against preference being given by the said leader to new people in the party in terms of assigning important tasks and roles in the organisational matters and reposed complete trust in them as against the old cadres who were allegedly dumped. However, the central leadership is also learnt to have taken cognizance of some complaints from various quarters of state unit that the man from RSS who had been given complete say and free hand in Assembly elections has faltered badly on some counts which cumulatively accounted for bad performance of the party on certain winnable constituencies in Jammu and Ladakh. While the complaints with regard to wrong decisions in giving tickets unfolding post elections gradually have reached the central leadership, what has also not augured well with the latter are the reports allegedly about financial mismanagement seen during the election campaign as well as during the elections with RSS man as general secretary at the helm of affairs, said the sources. |
