NMC for CM's intervention to end deadlock | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU May 29 : President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC), Subhash Shastri, has urged the Chief Minister, Minister for R&B to intervene personally and direct the higher authorities to hold talks with representatives of the striking casual labour to end the persisting deadlock. In a press statement issued here today, Shastri said that the demands of the protesting casual labourers are genuine and he would personally take up their genuine demands to the high ups of the state administration forthwith. While highlighting demands, Shastri said the protesting Casual labourers demanded regularization of casual labour, release of pending wages, timely release of salaries of daily wagers and termed demands as most genuine. However, Shastri demanded that the separate wage head should be constituted at the earliest as the same is the need of the hour because absence of wage heads resulted into the non disbursement of salaries on time. "Since BJP leaders in the present of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Jammu assured the casual labourer that If they came into power their issue should be resolved and termed labourer as back bone of administration, Now it high time for BJP who is one of the coalition partner in Govt to fulfill the promises with regard to Casual labourer", he mentioned, appealed the Coalition Govt to resolve the issue of Casual labourer by conceding their demands. Shastri also condemned the lathicharge on protesting casual labourer in Srinagar and said that lathicharge is not a permanent solution; if Govt is sincere then demands of causal labourer should be conceded with utmost priority. |
