Kathua, May 29: A delegation of Kathua Vikas Manch (KVM) today called on Ajay Singh Jammwal, District Development Commissioner in his office chamber. According to press release, the delegation led by Prof. Ram Murti Sharma, President of the Manch pleaded for most urgent and need based development related issues of Kathua. They demanded early completion of construction work of Nallah from Government Degree College (Boys) to Main Khad near Dream Park Kathua, Develop erstwhile Pond near Kali Bari (Opposite Petrol Pump) as, Recreational Park and development of Pond near Sankat Monchan Temple ward No. 13, Sawan Chak Kathua, Narsingh Temple Govindsar as a Heritage Pond; setting up of the Parking Zones and Toilet Blocks at Shaheedi Chowk, D.C. Office and other already identified sites; Provision of SOS Community bath rooms for ladies and gents at all them tube wells situated in ward No.-13,14,15,16 and 17 (Kathua) to meet the ritual related needs of people. Beautification of strip between canal and link road from Gurudwara Sawan Chak to Kuka Chak in the shape of strips, lawns, plantations, Foot Bridges, View Points and electrifications preferably with the co-operation of NGO'S and industrial unit operators, department of Forests, Social Forestry, Floriculture, Parks and Tourism. They also raised the demand of two additional bridges for connecting two wards/parts of the city one near Fruit Market(opposite Maha Kaleshwar Temple Ward No. 03) and the other near Dream Park Kathua; Proper implementation of UIDSSMT SCHEME of Union Government, implementation of sewerage plan, and waste management scheme and special cleanliness drives by Municipal Council on Sundays; Construction of flyover from Maggar Khad to Sahar Khad on NHAI Continuity of already undertaken work of Installation of Electric Polls from Hatli Morh to Bus Stand Kathua in view of availability of the polls and funds with XEn PDD Kathua Division ; Continuity of already undertaken establishment work of Inter State Bus Stand at Kathua for which a project of about Rs.14.10 Crore stands submitted to Government of India for funding under 14th Finance Commission. The DDC gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured early appropriate action for meeting the demands. |
