Inter District Athletic meet concludes at Kathua

kathua, May 29: Games and Sports being an integral part of school curricula enhances & develops the spirit and values of discipline, sports man-ship, emotional and national integration and above all the true qualities of leadership. They also inculcate the moral values of life, mutual understanding, respect for others and high sense of co-operation among the sportsman. Games and Spots further enhance the desire for physical, mental and psycho-muscular development.
District Development Commissioner Kathua, Ajay Singh Jamwal, delivered his valuable advices to the participants, while presiding over the prize distribution function of Inter School District level Athletic meet 2015-16, which was concluded today on 29th of May 2015 at Sports Stadium Kathua. He also laid emphasis for the maximum participation of the student in the forthcoming tournaments.
The Guest of honor, Additional District Development Commissioner Kathua, Dr. Manmohan Singh, also extended his best wishes to the participants. Chief Education Officer, Balbir Singh, too highlighted the importance of games and sports in the schools and urged for the total dedication of the physical Education Staff for promoting and organizing such events at the school level. Earlier, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Kathua Sunil Kumar, along with all the Zonal Physical Education Officer, welcomed the chief guest and guest of honour and presented buckeyes.

The result of today events included, 100 mtr U-17 yrs, Reena Sharma, HSS Kathera at 1st place, Alka kant, HS Chadwalat 2nd and Skina Bibi, HS Raj bagh at 3rd place. In 200 mtrs U-17 yrs, Reena Sharma, HSS Kathera , bags 1st position, Bindu Devi, HS Marheenat 2nd place and Zarina Begum, HS Basantpurat 3rdplace. In 1500 mtrs U-17 yrs, Parveena Bibi, HS Nagri Parole stands at 1st place, Parveen Akhtar, HSS kathera at 2nd place while Billi, HS Dinga Amb at 3rd place. In 3000 mtrs U-17 yrs, Shallu Bibi, HSS Hatli bagged 1st position, Bandhana, HSS Bhallar at 2nd place and Gitika, HS Tridwan at 3rd place. In 100 mtr U-14 yrs, Sabina Akhtar, MS Chack Drab Khan upperstoods at 1st position, Surya Akhtar, MS Raj-bagh at 2nd position and Makhanu, HS Marheen at 3rd position. In 200 mtrs U/14 yrs Radhu Devi, MS Chann Khaterian at 1st position, Geetanjli Sharma, SMHS Nagri Parole at 2nd position, Anjali Devi,HS Nagri Parole at 3rd position. In 400 mtrs U-14yrs, Meera Devi, MS Bojoke Chack bagged 1st position, Gorkha Bano, MS Jugial at 2nd position, Anjali Devi, HS Nagri Parole at 3rd position. In 600 mtr U-14 yrs, Preeti Devi, MS Chann Khaterian at 1st position, Babli Devi, MS karroh at 2nd position and Gurnaz, MS Jugial at 3rd position.
