Srinagar, June 29: Noted writer, poet and scholar Dr Abdul Aziz Hajni, who Saturday took over the charge of the post of Secretary J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, today resigned from the Presidentship of Adbee Markaz Kamraz. It may be recalled that on Friday last the State Government appointed Dr Aziz Hajni as Secretary JKAACL. Dr Hajini, who figured on top in the Search Committee framed panel for the post, is known across the State for his literary acumen and standing. Noted Kashmiri language activist and Sahitya Akademi awardee, Dr Hajini remained President of 'Adbee Markaz Kamraz', a federation of 22 registered literary and cultural organizations of Kashmir for over a decade. During his association with AMK he vigorously worked for the promotion of Kashmiri language and culture. First Gold Medalist in Kashmiri language from the University of Kashmir, Dr Hajini has authored several books in Kashmiri language and also has translated books from English into Kashmiri. His resignation from the Presidentship of Adbee Markaz Kamraaz became imperative by his taking over as Head of state's premier cultural institution - J&K Academy of Arts, Culture and Languages. |
