Suspended teachers punish students

Kishtwar, June 29 : Students of High School Kuchalana, along with their parents falling under education Zone Nagsini in this frontier district held a massive protest here on Monday.
Protesters assembled outside the office of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar after staff members suspended by Chief Education Officer Kishtwar for remaining absent from their duties on 24-06-2015 refused to teach the students on the pretext that employees under suspension cannot take classes.
The agitating students alleged that the teachers are punishing them for raising their voice against the absentees’ employees following which six of the staff members posted in the said school were placed under suspension.
They said the other teachers who were not suspended by the CEO Kishtwar were also forced by the suspended staff members not to teach the students and instead asked them to ask their parents to arrange teachers for them.
After protesting for nearly half an hour, the agitating students and their parents called on Tehsildar Kishtwar who assured them that the matter would be looked into once Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar returns from public a Durbar at Padder. On the assurance of Tehsildar Kishtwar, the agitating students called off their protest.
Pertinently, After public outrage, Chief Education Officer Kishtwar on 24-06-2015 had ordered immediate suspension of all the staff members posted at High School (HS) Kuchalana after school was found locked during day time by the general public.
As per the order passed by CEO Kishtwar vide No. CEO/K/2015/6825-28 dated 24-06-2015, six employees namely Nigad Ara (Master), Ashok Kumar (Teacher), Ashok Kumar (RRT), Baby Rehana (3rd ReT), Masooma Begum (RRT) and Nazir Ahmed (Master) were placed under suspension with immediate effect and are attached in the same school till pending enquiry.
The CEO Kishtwar order stated that all the teaching staff of the school was found absent without any leave and the school was found locked.
The matter came to forefront after parents noticing that their children’s studying in the said High School are returning home without attending the school and sought details from their children’s who informed them that the school was closed as no staff member or teacher has arrived at school to teach them as a result all the students returned home. After hearing about closure of school, large number of people assembled outside school and held strong protest against the officials posted in the school forcing Chief Education Officer Kishtwar Vinod Kumar Soni to verify the fact and take immediate action against the absentees’ employees.
After verifying the public complaint, the CEO Kishtwar ordered immediate suspension of all the staff members posted in the school.
