BJP must honour its written commitment: AIIMS CC
6/30/2015 11:48:41 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 30: Urging the BJP to fulfill its written commitment on AIIMS within the stipulated time period, members of the AIIMS Coordination Committee (ACC) on Tuesday said that any delay in the matter on the part of the ruling party in J&K and at the Centre will lose all of its credibility.
The BJP will pay a very heavy price in case it failed to implement its written commitment in letter and spirit within the stipulated period, said Mohinder Singh Katoch, working president Jammu Province Peoples Front (JPPF) and Member ACC while addressing an impressive gathering at Lower Gadigarh, here this afternoon. The people of Jammu region are anxiously waiting for the day when the Government of India would announce the promised AIIMS for the neglected and underdeveloped Jammu region, he further added.
The ACC accepted in good faith the written assurance given to it on June 18 by two BJP ministers in the J&K Govt that the party will obtain positive order on the issue latest by July 20, he said, adding that now is the turn of the BJP to come up to the expectations of people of Jammu region. He further asserted that the people of Jammu region who are already seething with anger as their region did not get due share of representation in the government and charging the BJP with letting down them would become more unpopular in case it went back on its written commitment or dilute its stand on the issue of AIIMS.
Speaking at the meet of civil society members, CCI, Jammu vice-president, Deepak Aggarwal informed them that the ACC was not leaving anything to a chance and that many of its members are busy these days at different places in mobilizing public opinion and educating them about the issue that put people of Jammu region on the road to confrontation.
