Bail denied to three accused in alleged 'misappropriation of ancient coins'

Jammu, Jun 30: 2nd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu M K Sharma today rejected the pre-arrest bail application of Suman Kumar Kotwal, Mohan Lal and Ravi Kumar officials of the prison department who were booked by the Crime Branch for alleged misappropriation of precious 'ancient (gold) coins' belonging to medieval period recovered from the premises of Central Jail at Kot Bhalwal in 2012.
While rejecting the bail application, 2nd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu M K Sharma observed that the investigation of the case is at initial stage and the evidence collected shows involvement of applicants in the movement of recovered coins and threatening the inmates to depose falsely regarding the time and quantity of recovered coins and the true story shall be unfolded if the petitioner are subject to interrogation. With these observations, Court denied pre-arrest bail. (JNF)
