Kathua, July 1: In consequence of election of District Body of Ex servicemen held on 23 June 2015, Col PL Choudhary on behalf ex servicemen of District Kathua requested President JK Ex services league through Brig SS Sambyal, Vice President JK ESL to nullify the election held on 23 Jun 2015and hold fresh free and fair election in a democratic way but there was no positive response from them despite repeated requests.
As per press release, sequence to non acceptance of demand, approximately 500 ex-servicemen and war widows assembled at Kathua and formed a state level association which has been named as Jammu & Kashmir Ex Services Welfare Association. These ex-servicemen have been elected Col PL Choudhary (Retd) Founder Chairman, Capt GS Pathania District President , Kathua District, Hav Bholi Singh Vice President (Kandi Area Kathua), Capt JR Sharma Vice President (Kathua City) Capt Desh Raj Vice President (Andhad Kathua) Capt Balbir Singh Jasrotia Treasurer.
The constitution, objectives, organization, management and other committees, bodies are being framed and the Association will be god registered under the society Act shortly.
The main objective of the Association would be to address the problems/grievances of Ex servicemen & war widows concerning their pensions, ECHS, canteen facilities, and other benefits sanctioned by the State Govt and Central Govt. |
