`Health minister must concentrate more on patient care' `White collar' lands Lal Singh into trouble 7/1/2015 11:47:37 PM Early Times Report Srinagar, July 1: Health Minister Lal Singh is again in news for wrong reasons. This time his picture of having touched the collar of a woman doctor has gone viral on social networks, drawing flak from various quarters with people terming him as "ruthless dictator". According to reports, on June 29 Singh went to a government hospital in Lakhanpur to check the arrangements for Amarnath pilgrimage, which started Wednesday. Singh, as per the eyewitnesses, noticed that the collar of a woman doctor was not proper. He instead of asking her to put it right proceeded to fix it. "The minister moved towards her and saying 'Bitiya your collar is not proper' and corrected it himself. The doctor said nothing," said an official, witness to the incident. He said another woman doctor, on seeing the minister admonishing the doctor, hurriedly fixed her own collar. "There were lots of people. I do not think he acted inappropriately," the official said. Though the doctor didn't object to Minister's conduct, people who saw the picture are up in arms. "Why are the Doctors Associations of Jammu and Kashmir silent on the issue or they want to keep this Mantri in good humor for personal gains," posted a Facebook user. Singh, a leader of the BJP, which co-governs the state with the PDP, was lashed on twitter for "inappropriately touching a woman." "Shame: Health minister Lal Singh during Lakhanpur visit today," tweeted a netizen. Many have termed Singh's action disrespect for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recently launched selfie with daughter campaign. "Is Singh giving such kind of selfies which bring disrespect for Beti?" asked a netizen.
