Five KAS officers, two CEs, three doctors, one MD among 63 officials terminated from government services

srinagar, July 1: The state government today formally ordered for the termination of 63 employees including some officers. The terminated officials include two chief engineers, one managing director, three doctors, five Kashmir Administrative Services (KAS) officers.
Addressing a press conference here this afternoon, Minister for Education, Naeem Akhtar who is also the government spokesman said that the decision to terminate the services of these officers following recommendations by a five member high level committee headed by Chief Secretary, Mohammad Iqbal Khanday.
"The terminated employees include five KAS/GAD officers, four employees of School Education department, 14 officials of Revenue department, four employees of Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution (CA&PD) department, two employees of Finance department, two employees of Power Development Department and three employees of Roads and Buildings (R&B) department," said Naeem.
The government spokesman said that two employees of Department of Forests, two chief engineers of Public Health Engineering (PHE) department, two employees of Rural Development Department, Chief Town Planner of Jammu Development Authority, Additional Provident Fund Commissioner, two employees of Urban Local Bodies, five employees of Irrigation and Flood Control department, five employees of Home department and one Deputy General Manager of Jammu & Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation (J&KPCC) have also been shown the door.
According to the list prepared by the General Administration Department the five KAS officers terminated are Abdul Rashid Bhat, Joint Registrar Handicraft, Shameem Ahmad Laharwal, Director General Libraries & Research, Mohammad Yusuf Bhat, Secretary, State Commission for Women, Babu Ram, Additional Secretary Social Welfare and Bhumesh Sharma, attached with GAD. The two chief engineers shown the door are K K Gupta, in-charge CE CVPP and Prem Nath, in-charge CE PHE Jammu.
"The three doctors terminated from the government services are Dr. Manoj Bhagat, attached with Director Health Services Jammu, Dr. Reyaz Ahmad Dar, Medical Officer, Medical Supplies Corporation and Dr. Fayaz Ahmad Banday, Medical Officer, Primary Health Centre, Surasyar. Among the employees of School Education department one Tarsem Lal, in-charge Principal DIET Poonch has also been shown the door," said Naeem.
The government spokesman said that Deputy General Manager, J&KPCC, Suresh Kumar Rekhi, Managing Director, Jammu & Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation, Jagmohan Singh Tandon, Mohammad Bashir Rather, in-charge Tehsildar attached with Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Altaf Ahmad Mistri, Tehsildar Aripal Tral, Baj Singh, in-charge Naib Tehsildar Peeri and Mohammad Iqbal, in-charge Girdawar attached with Tehsil Office Thanamandi have also been terminated from the government services.
In the Housing and Urban Development Department in-charge Executive Officers Abdul Rashid Shah and Ravi Kumar, Chief Enforcement Officer, Satish Khajuria and former executive officer Lateef Ahmad have been shown the door. Mushtaq Ahmad Baba, Chief Accounts Officer, Education department Kashmir, Tariq Ahmad Ganie, in-charge Tehsil Supply Officer, CAPD Gool and Tajinder Pal Singh, Assistant Director CAPD Kathua have also been terminated from the services.
"Out of the 63 terminated officials 25 are involved in trap cases of vigilance and in 11 cases the officials are found to have raised assets disproportionate to their income. The remaining 27 officials are involved in other corruption cases. This is a warning shot to the employees who resort to malpractices or intend to do so. This is not the final list and in the future many such lists of corrupt officials would come to the fore," said Naeem.
