AKHNOOR, July 02: Making it a 16 runs win against Raina Warriors, Challenger Cricket Club Jammu today sailed into the semifinals of the Summer Cup Cricket Tournament, organised by Singh Cricket Club at Government Higher Secondary School ground, here. In the quarterfinals, played today, Challenger, batting first, made 186 runs for six wickets. In reply, Raina Warriors could not chase the total and bowled out for 170 runs in 19.3 overs. Ashu and Vimarsh played superb innings of half centuries. While Ashu made 50-ball 79 runs, Vimarsh added 30-ball 50 runs to the total. Vijay Dogra contributed 21 runs coming off 13 deliveries. From Raina Warriors, Sourav and Vishvajit took two wickets each while Kuldeep and Aman shared apiece each. Later, chasing a target of over nine runs per over, Raina Warriors could make 170 runs in 19.3 overs losing all their wickets. Manish Dogra (40 off 25 balls), Sahil Sharma (43 off 16 balls), Sidharth (23 off 14 balls) and Ishan (20 off 21 balls) were main contributors to the total. From Challenger, Manjit Singh was most successful bowler with four wickets, followed by Vimarsh, who took three. Ram Dayal and Somay Jain also took one wicket each. For his all round performance, Vimarsh Kaw was named man of the match. Rajinder Sharma and Sonu Malhotra were umpires in this match while Lucky was scorer. |
