JAMMU, July 4: Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) XI defeated Simula XI by 21 runs in the ongoing Monsoon Tri-Series Cricket League at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here today. Earlier, batting first, JKP XI made 150 runs in allotted 35 overs. Ram Dayal (50), Farooq Ahmad (30) and Parveen Singh (29) were main contributors to the team's total. From Simula, Vikram Singh emerged as most successful bowler, who clinched four wickets. Hilal Rather and Kuldeep shared two wickets each while Aman and Vivek bagged one each. In reply, Simula XI could not achieve the target and were bowled out for 129 runs in 26.3 overs. Sameer Khajuria was top scorer with 37 runs, followed by Hardeep and Puneet, who contributed 24 and 22 runs respectively. From JKP XI, Muzamil and Rompy bowled brilliant spells taking away four wickets each. For his half century, Ram Dayal was adjudged man of the match. This match was officiated by Suhail Yusuf and Sandeep Manchanda as umpires while Vinod Kandayara was scorer. In today's match, SSP Traffic, Mohan Lal was chief guest, who interacted with the teams. |
