| Old Tehsil Thathri deserves District status, separate Assembly constituency: TDF | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 5 : President of Thathri Development Front(TDF), Doda Kuldeep Kumar Rao today criticized the hollow slogans of previous NC- Congress government as well as of the present coalition government of PDP- BJP for so called equitable development for all three regions, is simply a drama and in fact they all are exposed over such a significant injustice with Jammu Division.
According to press release, Rao said that the biggest assembly constituency in Jammu Province is of 1,50,000 voters and the smallest assembly constituency is of 70,000 voters where as in Kashmir Province the biggest assembly constituency is of 70,000 voters and the smallest assembly constituency is 30,000 voters.
Can People of Jammu Province get justice in this open disparity?
He further said that the erstwhile tehsil Thathri, having now 5 Tehsils, which deserves to be a separate District Status & a separate Assembly Constituency & also a separate tourism Authority because the existing Districts & Assembly Constituencies in the state have hardly 3 or 4 Tehsils.
Rao assailed the Congress for its failure to come true to its promise for de-limitation made during 2008 state assembly election. The PDP had also promised to constitute de-limitation in its common minimum programme when in power in 2002 with Congress but presently all of them has been failed to address the genuine problem of common masses. |
